Mr & Mrs Otton

Sammi Merchant & David Otton | 17th September 2016 | Pembrokeshire

It was a super relaxed morning at Sammi’s parents house with the very talented duo MUA Nicole Devereux and Hair stylist Julie Duignan doing what they do best. With a glass of prosecco (tea for me) to calm the nerves the girls all started getting ready.

Sammi’s bridesmaids were her sisters Alex & Cerys and her good friends Kizzy & Keeley. David’s little niece was also a flower girl who looked stunning with her french plat and flowers running through her hair to match her pink sparkly Monsoon dress. Of course not forgetting the two ring bearers, looking ultra suave in their boat shoes, bow ties and braces. Adorable!

The brides dress was a Lillian West gorgeous fit and flare which is my personal favourite style at the moment. Stunning lace detail, buttons all the way down the back and it suited Sammi so well! The Buttonholes and Flowers incorporated soft pinks, whites and a bit of sparkle beautifully arranged by Sammi’s Auntie, Lynn McGuire.

After a few snapchat selfies and a hi five from Dad they all set off to Woodhouse Barn

p.s. Doesn’t Sammi have THE bluest eyes you’ve ever seen?

Set in the heart of the Welsh countryside surrounded by fields Woodhouse Barn was a pretty perfect location for their wedding and a gorgeous, bright sunny day for it too!

David was ready and waiting in the separate round ‘Hen house’ for his beautiful bride wearing a Navy Blue suit from Slaters. One of my personal favourite photos from this day is of Sammi’s sister Cerys during the ceremony, I always try to catch those little bursts of emotion.

Sometimes there is so much going on, it all happens so fast that the bride and groom don’t always have a chance to take everything in, that’s why I think my job is so important. Documenting their day so that they can look back, see and feel every aspect of it.

After the ceremony it was pimms in jars on the lawn outside, the sun was shining, you couldn’t have asked for better weather! Although I capture lots of candid photos of the guests it’s always nice to have some formal happy group shots for the family to look back on afterwards. With a couple of arranged family groups and a little shoot with the bridesmaids who’s pastel blue dresses were from Asos we were done and it was back to the pimms!

After a bit of mingling I took Sammi and Dave off to get a few bride and groom photos, making the most of gorgeous surroundings whilst the light was nice and low.

The evening was a super relaxed one, after some lush food supplied by Woodhouse Barn and the cutting of the cake made by Cake Carousel it was then onto ice cream for pudding. This provided for some entertaining photos! We were lucky enough to have a beautiful sunset that night, I love the shot of Cerys and her partner Aaron laughing into the sunlight.

There had been rumours amongst the little ones that there would be a bouncy castle arriving at some point in the evening. Much to their delight Cromwell’s Castles arrived and before we knew it they were straight on there, fueled up from ice cream. Of course the bride and groom had to have a go as well. Not long after the DJ’s started playing some classic tunes bringing everyone to the dance floor, Sammi and Dave had their first dance and then it was time for me to leave them to it.

Such an amazing day to be a part of, thank you both for letting mr capture it for you.
